“The trouble with the carbon space is that there are no standards, so how do we know what system to use?” This is a statement that we hear almost on a daily basis, but the truth is that there are a number of standards designed to bring order and credibility to the natural capital space: the SBTi’s forest, land and agriculture (FLAG) guidance, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the ISO 14067 standards.
HOW IT SOLVES IT
Trinity AgTech’s software-as-a-service platform (backed by more than 45 renowned scientists across Europe) democratizes the latest science (2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories) and the best-in-class technology. It rewards all farming systems (arable, horticulture, perennials and livestock) with independent and unbiased solutions that avoid carbon tunnel vision (also focusing on biodiversity improvements, water protection and soil erosion mitigation), and that follow the strongest legal underpinning (leveraging ISDA language) and the highest-quality standards. Trinity is fully compliant with ISO 14067 and the GHG Protocol, supporting corporates in the food, fashion and beauty sectors to meet their SBTi FLAG targets.
USE CASE
Trinity AgTech has helped Moët Hennessy reach its sustainability commitments by valorizing the viticultural transition that is underway at the Maison, tracking real impact through carbon and biodiversity monitoring, and centralizing carbon and biodiversity best practices across different Maisons in France.
The scope of work includes both providing access to Sandy – Trinity AgTech’s software & science platform – and working on tailored scientific methodologies that apply to French vineyards with the support of renowned experts from French research institutions with a very high reputation.
