“La Maison des Startups LVMH opens the doors to 75 companies. There isn’t another program in the world that can do that!” – BioFluff.

With high profile partnerships with the likes of Stella McCartney and Ganni, la Maison des Startups LVMH alumni BioFluff is establishing itself as the proud purveyor of the fur of the future.

When BioFluff first joined la Maison des Startups LVMH back in 2022, all it had to show for its revolutionary concept of a natural plant alternative to animal and synthetic fur was what co-founder Roni Gazmon (along with Martin Stuebler and Steven Usdan) jokingly describes as “a super DYI sample. A little square of white fluff held together with a bunch of glue.”

Fast-forward to 2023, where Stella McCartney’s Cop28 runway show heralded a new era of sustainable fashion. Featuring 15 startup collaborations, it included a striking BioFluff coat representing the ‘Future of Fur’, made of Savian a cruelty-free, and non-toxic innovative material (available in a wide variety of textures and colors) a world away from that original bit of home-spun white fluff.

“It was incredible.” says Roni, “The reason we started Savian was to provide an inspiring, luxurious, and unrestrictive solution for the brands, while working in partnership with nature – as it’s biodegradable and compostable. It took a while to get to the right quality and aesthetic — lots of back and forth — but in the end Stella loved that piece so much that it went on to become Look 28 of her pre-fall collection.”

Savian by BioFluff’s cameo at the Ganni show at Copenhagen Fashion week on January 31, only confirms its status as a fabric of the future. And Roni Gazmon is quick to credit La Maison des Startup LVMH with teaching the startup “the patience to navigate the wild ride of the fashion industry as well as the LVMH ecosystem. They’ve really guided us on how to work with brands and when to collaborate with them. It’s been an incredible relationship.”

As a veteran, what would her advice be for ambitious newbies joining La Maison des Startup LVMH?

“Firstly, I would say that there needs to be someone physically in Paris because it’s the most valuable thing you can do. Going to Station F every day and taking part in the expert sessions there makes such a difference. Secondly, I would say that if a startup already has a use case application this is the best program for them. La Maison des Startups LVMH opens the doors to 75 companies. There isn’t another program in the world that can do that!”
